Twain By Two is a one-act collection of Mark Twain material performed by Largely Literary Theater Company co-founders Mark Dawidziak (who has been playing Mark Twain on stage for 45 years) and Sara Showman (who plays pretty much everybody else in the show). The performance includes excerpts from Huckleberry Finn and Eve's Diary. There also are selections on politics and "Curing a Cold." Dawidziak is an internationally recognized Twain scholar, and his many books on the writer include Mark My Words: Mark Twain On Writing, Horton Foote's The Shape of the River: The Lost Teleplay About Mark Twain, Mark Twain in Ohio, Mark Twain's Guide to Diet, Exercise, Beauty, Fashion, Investment, Romance, Health and Happiness, and Mark Twain for Cat Lovers. Dawidziak and Showman have taken their Twain show to such venues as the Thurber House in Columbus, Ohio, the Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford, Connecticut, the Center for Mark Twain Studies in Elmira, New York, and the historic Barter Theatre in Abgindon, Virginia. The performance will be followed by a Q&A session.
